Welcome to the Facilitator's Guide
Thank you for helping someone take the next step toward meaningful employment.
We developed the Job Seeker's Guide to help people explore their interests, build skills, make informed decisions, and prepare for competitive integrated employment. As a facilitator, your role is to encourage, guide, and support each person as they work through the activities at their own pace.
This Facilitator's Guide is designed to make that process easier. It includes suggestions for leading discussions, explaining concepts, and adapting activities to meet individual needs.
The Job Seeker's Guide is a companion for the employment search. Every job seeker is different, and your experience, creativity, and relationship with the individual are some of the most valuable tools you bring.
There is not a single "right" way to use these materials. Some people may complete the guide independently, while others may benefit from working through one activity at a time with support from a professional, family member, teacher, or mentor. Feel free to adjust the pace, revisit topics, skip activities that are not relevant, or spend additional time exploring areas that spark interest.
Above all, remember that employment planning is about the person, not the resource. The conversations you have, the confidence you help build, and the opportunities you help uncover are often just as important as completing the activities themselves.
Thank you for being a partner in helping Ohioans discover their strengths, pursue their goals, and build meaningful careers in their communities.
