Consent is a way of saying or showing something is okay with you. Consent is an important word to know before you kiss, hug or let someone touch your body. It means that you give permission, that you say ‘it’s OK’ or ‘Yes, I want to do this.’

It is important to respect and listen to another person when they say something is okay or not, when they say "Yes" or "No." Before we touch another person, it is important to understand that each person gives consent, or says “Yes” every time. Each person has the right to say, “No, I don’t want to do this” at any time. 

There is an age that someone can legally consent to have sex. In Ohio, the age is 16 and older. Adults are considered to be 18 years old or older.
