Pedestrian Safety
There are so many ways to get around the community. Some people walk, use a wheelchair, ride a bike, drive a car, or use a scooter. You are a pedestrian when you are not using a motor vehicle. When you are a pedestrian, you have freedom to explore your community, enjoy fresh air, exercise, and get to know the people and places around you. You can be safe and healthy as a pedestrian by paying attention to what is going on around you and following some safety rules and tips. Remember that being out in the community and near traffic is an unpredictable area, so it is up to the individuals and the people supporting them to evaluate the risks to each specific situation.
Goals of the Sections:
- Know the rules and laws related to pedestrians.
