What are Illegal Drugs?
Some kinds of illegal drugs are marijuana, cocaine, and heroin.
You cannot buy these drugs at a store.
Other drugs can come from a doctor:
- They are ok to use if your doctor says you need them.
- Some people use these drugs when they don’t need them.
- Using these drugs when you don’t need them is illegal too
Some illegal drugs have street names, or nicknames. Some of the names might be cute or funny, but that doesn’t mean that the drugs are legal or harmless. Here are some examples:
- Marijuana: pot, grass, green, weed, doobie, ganja, dope
- Heroin: brown sugar, white horse, china white, black stuff, gum, dope, golden girls.
- Meth: go fast, poor man’s cocaine, tweak, uppers, biker’s coffee, trash, crank, speed, chalk
- MDMA: ecstasy, XTC, Molly, adam, clarity, lover’s speed, X, E, bean roll, stacy
- Cocaine: crack, nose candy, big c, foo-foo dust, pimp, snort, powder, coca
- Illegally used cold medicine: candy, dex, DM, red devils, skittles, tussin, velvet, drex, robo
- Krokodil
- Bath salts
