Your Right to Privacy


Right to privacy means you can see the doctor by yourself.

Right to privacy means the doctor must respect your personal privacy during exams, treatments or personal care.

Sometimes, the doctor has to have another health care person in the room when they do an exam or treatment. That is for their and your safety. It is okay to have that person in the room. They must also respect your privacy.

Right to privacy means the doctor cannot talk to anyone about your health care unless you say it is okay. Your support person must also respect your privacy.
