Paratransit

Many larger cities in Ohio have transportation services specifically for individuals with disabilities. This is often called “Paratransit”. This type of transportation will take you where you want to go within a certain area and within certain times.

Paratransit is an “eligibility-based service”, meaning that your disability needs to impact your ability to take regular public transportation options. If you are interested in this option a meeting will be held to determine if you are eligible.

Paratransit can be used to get to work as well as for you to get to other places like doctor’s appointments or to see friends. The cost of a ride tends to be inexpensive, and you can either pay cash or purchase a ticket online.

Not every city in Ohio is big enough to have its own paratransit program. Your area’s Mobility Manager can help you explore options in your community.
