Walking and Biking

Walking or using your bicycle to get to work is a great way to save money and stay active. As you are looking for a good job for you, ask yourself if there are any businesses within walking distance from your home that you might like to try working at.

Here are some questions to consider:

  • Are there sidewalks and crosswalks available on my route to work so I can walk safely?
  • Do I have a backup plan in case weather keeps me from walking or biking?
  • Can I arrange a ride home from work so I don’t have to walk or bike in the dark?
  • Do I have everything I need to bike safely, including a reliable bicycle, helmet, and a good bike lock?
  • Will the employer have a safe space to store my bike while I am working?
