Your Mental Health
It is important to take care of your mental health. Mental health is how we think, feel, and act.
Mental health affects how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.
Find ways to keep stress and anxiety from getting you down.
Doing yoga, practicing mindfulness, being active, and talking to family members and friends can help you have better mental health.
If you feel down, sad, or angry a lot, or if it is hard for you to do things that you normally liked to do, you may need help from someone called a counselor, psychologist, social worker, or mental health specialist.
Sometimes, you may be so sad or angry that you also need some medications to help you feel better. Usually, your doctor or a doctor who specializes in mental health (called a psychiatrist) can prescribe medication that may be helpful for you.
They can meet with you and talk to you about ways to make you feel happier and better.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help or see a counselor when you need to.
